Welcome to the Friends of Thurgood Marshall Elementary (FTME) website.  We are a non-profit organization of parents, teachers and staff members who strive to support the intellectual, social and emotional needs of all our students and families.  We support our students, staff and families through community building events and fundraising efforts needed to support our many programs.

Spring Enrichment will open on 3/4 at 8 PM PST on Homeroom HERE. Due to budget restrictions we are only able to offer a limited number of scholarships. Please email enrichment@tmlink.org if help with a scholarship needed. Spring Enrichment classes will start on March 23 and run through June 5th. Please see the TM Enrichment page for more info.

Our monthly FTME membership meeting is Monday 3/9, 6:30-7:30pm on Zoom. Please email fundraising@tmlink.org if you would like to join! Membership is free and we always welcome more members. We are also looking for board members for next year.

This week, we celebrate and thank our incredible school counselor, Ms. Matsui, for the care, guidance, and steady support she provides to students every day. School counselors help students navigate challenges, build confidence, plan for the future, and feel seen and supported academically, socially, and emotionally.

February is Black History month, a time to honor the rich history, resilience, creativity, and leadership of Black leaders and communities past and present, including Justice Thurgood Marshall, our school’s namesake. We are also observing Black Lives Matter this week at TME. Each grade level has a learning activity for each day of the week and teachers typically include their grade level lessons for the week in their monthly newsletters. 

Please join us at 8am on Wednesday, Feb. 11th in the Cafeteria. Principal Julie and FTME board members will be there to answer any questions about Thurgood Marshall and FTME.

Thurgood Marshall Elementary Cafeteria & Gym, Thursday 1/29, 6pm – 8pm
Join us for a fun night of bingo and a movie (with popcorn of course)!! Wear your jammies and bring a stuffed animal!  There will be a TM Bull Pup merch table and a chance to learn more about FTME and opportunities to get involved.

Tutu’s Pantry supports up to 40 TME students and their families every week by providing them with backpacks filled with food every Friday. You can support Tutu’s Pantry by making a monetary donation here.  (Please select Tutu’s Pantry in the “Use this Donation for” menu)
