Please join FTME in welcoming Thurgood Marshall Elementary’s new Principal for next year, Dr. Ebonisha Washington on Tuesday June 16th, 8-9am in the Library. Coffee and pastries will be provided. Please allow extra time for street parking and to check in at the front office since the 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony will also be happening later that morning.
This year, the majority of the funds raised by FTME went to support literacy tutors who work with students to improve their reading skills. These are dedicated educators working one-on-one with students to help get every student reading at grade level by third grade. Literacy skills improve students’ performance across subjects; our tutors are critical to keeping students on track.
This program is at risk.
Costs have increased and our current fund is not enough to ensure the continuation of the program next year. We are $14,000 away from our $80,000 goal and we need your help to get there. Please donate to keep literacy tutors in our classrooms next year!
This past week, our school community lost a beloved teacher, Mr. Salyer, who was fatally struck while biking home from work. He made a lasting impact on students, colleagues, and families alike.
