FTME helps coordinate and publicize volunteer needs that range from one-time brief tasks to year-long commitments. Without the thousands of hours contributed by students, staff, parents and other community members, Thurgood Marshall wouldn’t be the outstanding school it is.
If you have a special talent to contribute, let us know! OR, if you want to be called when need arises, contact the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteering@tmlink.org.
Please Note: Seattle Public Schools requires all volunteers to submit a completed Volunteer Application Form with background check prior to working with students. More information available at the SPS Volunteer page.
Typical Volunteer Opportunities
Many event-specific volunteer needs arise during the school year and are publicized through Pup Press, social media and/or on our signup page. Below are a few examples of other opportunities.
BULLPUP DADS … and Bullpup uncles, grandfathers, adult siblings, etc. (even Bullpup aunties!) help classroom teachers with a wide variety of tasks and connect with kids as positive role models.
‘ON-CALL’ FIELD TRIP HELP Needed when a class is short of chaperones for a field trip
PARKING LOT FLOW DIRECTORS If you drive your student to or from school, you know why we need this!
CLASS CONNECTORS Does your child’s classroom have one? If not, step up! Most duties involve email communication to other parents in your student’s room.
FTME POSITIONS Rewarding opportunities that make a huge difference to our school. Job descriptions available for most posts. Most options can be shared with another volunteer! To learn more (no obligation!), email pta@tmlink.org.
Nothing here sounds like something you’d like to do? Contact the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteering@tmlink.org to be added to the general opportunities email list.
